Solitude - White Sands NP
Hi All! I have missed you guys  I am back from Santa Fe and Flagstaff, next I am off to Sun Valley and Denver. I haven't had much time to process yet.

I just opened my first joint exhibit with my son Kevin, 13, last weekend; I am so proud of him  If any of you make it to the Oregon Coast this summer our exhibit runs July 1 - August 31 at Brassfield Gallery & Framing 2309 Third Street in Tillamook.

Here is my first image processed from New Mexico at White Sands NP.

Nikon D70, ISO 200, 18-70@46mm, 1/200-f/13, curves, levels, polarizer, etc.

Beth,
Nice lines and diagonals. It's a simple image but it works.

Nice Image Elizabeth - what time was this shot at ? The sky looks seems a bit dark.

This has a nice graphic feel to it with opposing diagonal lines and negative space in the sky. I feel like it could be lightened some and maybe add some contrast in the sand.

Image appears to be too flat. More contrast and some lightning in the sand would help improve it.

Beth,

Good luck with the show in Tillamook -- it has to be a very special experience to be sharing it with your son.

Making for a different feeling image than presented, but have you looked at a somewhat extreme pano (keeping the top third of the image)?

Regards, Simon

Thanks all for the comments! I will take a look at adding a bit more contrast, and playing with a couple pano versions.

Great image Elizabeth... kinda thought the same thing about the contrast in the sand, but it works great as is... Congrats on the show with the son as well... I'm sure 10years or so from now, we'll be seeing his work in National Geographic or something, if you've already got him showing work  By any means very cool to have someone close to share your passion with... now excuse me while I go cry :jump:
