I'm very happy to have found this site. There's a wealth of information and it's inspirational.
I shoot nature, mostly with people in the landscape doing things - "adventure photography" probably descirbes it best. I run rivers, hike mountains and canyons. I'm wanting to do more landscape images, and seem to have found a great community here.
Hi Ed, welcome. If you're looking for help with landscape photography I think you have found the right site You will also find that this is by far the most congenial, supportive photography forum found on the internet...thanks to Jim. Randy

Welcome to the site Ed. You'llfind this a very friendly and helpful group - no flamers, just kind people who enjoy nature photography.
Welcome, fellow Arizonan! The images and comments people post here are great resources to learn from. It's great to feel so encouraged to post your images--at least one person will give you a comment, and it really helps to get the feedback. I too desire to improve my landscape photography and let's say I "aspire to create work worthy of the Earth, Sea, and Sky gallery". But I have fun posting to the other galleries as well. It's also a great exercise to comment on other's images, thinking and analyzing on what I specifically like about the image.
Do you run the Grand Canyon? Doing that a couple years ago was the impetus for me to get more serious about photography, so when I go again I will be "properly armed" to attempt to capture a small part of the amazing beauty down there. And now I'm hooked.
Thanks Stacy, Yes I do run the Grand, and as you know it's a fantastic place for photos. I haven't been down since 2001. After that our first child was born, then another. We do take them on rivers where the rapids aren't a concern. Our last river trip was 7 days on the San Juan with family & friends.
Unfortunately I am unable to post pics, guess I'll have to become a NPN member. I also don't have a website so no photos to share at the present.
I have looked through member's portfolios and websites. WOW, I am impressed. Very nice work by all. Adam, your site is stellar! Living in the southwest I've traveled it a fair amount and I have to say that you really capture the beauty of it.
Welcome to NPN Ed. I am positive you will learn a lot here. I have learned and continue to learn every day.

Welcome Ed! I think you'll find a wealth of influences here, internationally and domestically. The resources which to draw from are endless. I look forward to your future posts.
I'm still fairly new to this site also but its pretty easy to get comfortable here. With all the extremely talented photographers and their amazing photos there is no end to the learning opportunities and inspiration.

I'll add my "Welcome to NPN!", too.
Arizona is close to California, so hop over to the CANP forum, as well.
We hope your time here is productive and above all, fun!
