Blue Hour (with cropped version)
I took down the first post becuase I posted the wrong version, whoops

OK, it's really like half an hour, but I love that time of intense blue an hour or so before sunrise and after sunset. This was taken at about 5am. I left this one a tad dark, as it was almost dark when were sitting there freezing our butt's off, and that's the feeling I was trying to capture.

I didn't have to saturate this at all really, this is exactly how it looked to me that morning.

Zack, beautiful! I like the blue. Great foreground shape within the similar shape of the light on the water. :toast:

Beautiful, beautiful and more beautiful. This would also work well in a 16 x 20 aspect ratio, Zack with a little less sky and a little less FG. Love all the dang detail the 5D picks up....

Great shot! I know, it's amazing that we don't have to saturate those early morn and late eve shot that much. I can attest to the whole "cold as hell feeling"....! :toast:

Zack,
This is an awesome image. If anything I would take a little (annd only a little) off the bottom and leave the sky as is. I love the tones and that famous patch of trees in the top half.

Beautiful shot Zack! I agree with Erik just a tad off the bottom to highlight the top of the image. Stunning time of the day, wonderful blues

Very nice, neat to see a sunrise image with such different colors... will have to try something similar myself... the lighting seems perfect, the foreground is well lit as is the water and sky, even the mountains have good light, the only "dark" items is the trees in the mid and they don't hurt at all being that way... Amazing how the colors can saturate at times when were told they won't look good... I constantly get images taken in the mid day the "worst" light possible, and think they are great colors...

I do think I like the cropped a little better, but not sure what or how much you cropped exactly, having a hard time comparing... looks like you just took some off the sky which would be my pick, leave the foreground, take just a tad of the dark sky off... looks like what you did on the crop... both are great however...
