St Joseph Apache Mission
Here is a shot from my images of missions in New Mexico. We were driving from White Sand NP to Roswell, and came across this beautiful mission on the Mescalero Apache reservation. It was midday, and there was a bit of construction going on to restore the mission (St Joseph restoration project). I decided to play a bit with my infrared filter to get a unique view.

Nikon D70, ISO 400, 18-70@70mm, 1/2.5 sec-f/8, curves, levels, tripod, remote, infrared filter, buzz filter

Very errie Elizabeth... I have yet to play with IR myself, but a neat effect indeed... Looks like you made the foreground look sort of painted??? Am I right???

The only issue I have with this, and I'm sure others will disagree is that it seems a little flat, I guess I would like to see a bit more contrast in the foreground (the really light foilage) though after saying that I did realize what this image does very well, and perhaps couldn't do if it had the higher contrast and darker shades of gray, is imediately draw my eyes to the mission, which I'm sure is part of the point... so it does a GREAT job of that... overall very neat image... Deffinately seems to be good contrast in the image, just not where I'm used to seeing it... thats IR for ya

BTW, welcome back from your trip... I'm in Phoenix right now, it's currently about 101 outside, was 110 earlier, was about 80 outside @ 5 or 6am when I woke up about 100miles north of Vegas, which I'm heading back to in the morning... YUCK!!!! I miss Oregon on days like this :frown:
