This is interesting Juza. With all the talk and speculation about Canon's new body Nikon is first to announce a date and some teaser specs! It is interesting to watch the marketing competition.
Salvo, unless Nikon dramaticly switches gears, they are committed to the 1.5 sensor.
Because they call it a D-SLR it most certainly isn't an all-in-one like the 8800. Nikon has really been churning out d-SLRs in the past few years.

love it! should be interesting... i am just now starting to think about an upgrade from the D70s, and obviously was looking at the D200... depending on the full specs of this new one, i may be able to save some $$ and get that better glass i've been looking for!!! yipee

The D70/D70s came out with the same sensor as the D100. I can imagine a D80 with the same sensor as the D200, but missing some of the advanced features and without a vertical grip.

Given that "Jeep" is just a pronunciation of the original military designation of "GP" for General Purpose Vehicle, the Chevy is a SUV that could just as easily be labeled a GP. Your friend seems to have mastered the military acronyms. Can she also swear like a trooper?

It has a 10.2mp sensor, I guess it is the D70 successor.
Is it full frame?

Is it a 4x5?
I hope it will bring the price of the D200 down.

it uses the same 10.2mp sensor of the Sony Alpha 1, that is APS-C.

(ok, I guess you need to know something about cars to get it)
