Good composition and use of backlighting. Nice and sharp, no real nits. I might prefer a bit more space around the butterfly and flower, it just loooks a bit cramped as is, but a personal preference thing really. I don't mind the white background section at the bottom of the frame but I can't help thinking it would be a more effective image if you could have somehow taken the shot with a complete black background as I think it enhances the backlit effect on the butterfly.
Minor comments aside, this is a very good image. Nice work.
I can see where Sean is coming from here, but I like the very tight composition here. It makes the scene a little more intimate and, to me, works well as a macro.
Cheers,
John

I like the tightness of the shot it works for me, I have to agree about the white at the bottom if you had just lowered your camera it would have made a big difference to the image and made it into a classic image.
This really highlights the beautiful translucence of these gorgeous insects. I think that a pure black bg would give it a somewhat artificial look so I like this 'as ia' no nits from me!
Hello Barrie
I have returned to this many times before commenting, and read, with interest, other folks views on it. I agree with Cive's comments, and I think that, possibly, it could be your "copyright" at the bottom, which is adding to the impression of it being a bit too tight in the frame.
I like it.
Best wishes
Phil
I like, having never seen one close I have no complaints concerning crop (perhaps a tad more space above flower) also like the lower light area.
Fantastic stuff, one day I'll find one sat.
