Orton Challenge
I finally got some time to myself to work on an Orton image. I like this one because the greens of the fern stand out nicely aginst the wet rock. Comments welcome and thanks for looking!

Nice image! I like the 3-D effect and "dream-like" quality of your Orton image.

Hi Dick, thanks for the comment it's greatly appreciated. Using the Orton technique saved this image, I was not to impressed with it once I was able to reveiw on the PC. Although I delete some images I kept this one incase I found a way to improve on it.

David, your effort makes the subjects stand out nicely from the dark bg. Good effort, thanks for posting! :wavey:

I've always been a big fan of ferns, and this is a nice capture David. The fern on the right side seems a little soft though, and I might have tried to find some in a more upright position. These give me a little bit of an disoriented feeling - the way they seem to be growing to the side.

Thanks for sharing!

Wayne, thanks for the comment, it just goes to show that not all images should be deleted.

Bill, I found these ferns growing on a rock bluff about five feet off the ground. The longest frond might have been four inches long at the time, since it was early spring growth. The softness on the right was one reason I didn't like the image to much, but I like it a lot more with this techniqe. Thanks for the feedback I really appreicate.
