This is a shot of a doe I took at Lone Elk Park in St. Louis county this past Saturdday morning. I wanted to head to the 550 acre wildlife park to see how it fared during the recent storms that hit the area. It appears the area, and its wildlife, survived the storms. As I was hiking on one of the trails, I jumped this doe and the shot couldn't have framed itself any better. The photo was slightly cropped and warmed in PS before being resized for the web.

Thoughts, Comments, Questions, Suggestions are always appreciated.

Matt, I like the pose and the way the vine leaves are framing the doe's head. If I had to nit one point it would be the doe's head merging with the background on the right side of the image. On the other hand I am at work on an uncalibrated monitor so this may not be a problem. Over all this is a nice image for one that pop up in front of you. Nicely done and thanks for sharing.

Matt, that's a nice looking doe. I find the bright tree trunk a little distracting and would like to see the image with it cropped out and the doe's face the lightened a bit. Should make a nice portrait. Sounds like a nice park for wildlife, I don't remember it, but it was a long time ago since I lived up that way. Keep up the good work.

Matt, this is a nice doe and you are right, the framing with the leaves was very lucky. Nice eye focus and good color throughout.

I like your other posts better than this one simply because those subjects were caught in some interesting poses. Keep in mind that this critique is from a guy who doesn't have a single good shot of a deer! Thanks for posting! Keep them coming.

Matt, regarding my previous comment, I took another look after getting home and it's much better on a calibrated monitor and it's not as dark as I thought. Note to self don't make comments when veiwing images at work. Nicely done and thanks once again thanks for sharing.
