Just jumping on the lightning bandwagon! It's too easy these days.
This was shot from my front door a little while ago, looking at Pikes Peak. It was such a great show with lightning that seemed to just hang in the air, that I was able to just pull the trigger (1/20th).
All this lightning reminds me of the lightning trigger device (hot shoe). Don't remember the name of it. Anyone use one of those? I think it would be fun to have, when longer exposures aren't appropriate/available.
Great capture, Jesse. I tried some at 1/20 sec etc in the San Juans last weekend with Zero success. None of the bolts were the type that hung around for a brief second, so combined with my slow reaction time and shutter lag, I got a lot of gray skies.

I think the device you may be thinking of is a "Lightning Trigger" (made in Colorado). I have one but have never tried it...perhaps time to unwrap it and give it a try.
Great shot, Jesse - the arching cloud/downpour is fantastic. (And great view, too!)

Ooh, very cool, Jesse! You've got a great view of that side of the peak. I snapped a few clouds before the storm with the nice lighting when we got back home last night, but then it was on to stories before bedtime...

What part of the Springs do you live in where you still have that much open space within view of your front door? I'm jealous!

Great shot Jesse.

Todd, I think he's in Divide.
