Pine Marten
Hi, this is my first photo posted on the Rocky Mountain forum. I remember there was a recent thread about Pine Martens on this forum but I didn't know how to post my photo. Actually, I first posted this photo on the Pacific Northwest forum by mistake.

This is a pine marten that I saw from my kitchen window last winter. At that time we lived 30 miles east of Meeker and our place was adjacent to the White River National Forest near great spruce/fir habitat. No pine marten habitat where we live now, still in NW Colorado but only 6 miles east of Meeker.

I know this photo has problems but I was happy to have such a close look at one of these pretty creatures and thrilled to get any photo at all. Any input or critisism is welcome.

I agree with Rene, excellent shot. Nice sharp image with some good catch light in the eyes. Look at the claws! I also like the position of the head. Robbie George

That is great! I saw three when I was in Crested Butte, but they were all much faster than my camera. I love the way the little guy is framed. Nice job!!

Its a wonderful shot. I have never seen a real one. He appears to be the same size or slightly larger than a tree shark. Cute little fella, Great shot Dona.....................J

Dona - a great shot of a very elusive animal. I can only see one thing wrong with it - it is not mine. . .

Thank you all for your kind comments on my pine marten photo. I was concerned about the oof spruce branches in the background and the colors didn't seem quite right to me until I bought a better monitor and now all my photos look better than they did. Should have made this purchase a few years ago.
