Another amazing shot, I am still stunned you can take these kind of shots from the shore using a 300mm lens.
My only comment with this shot is I would be tempted to rotate clockwise a few degrees as the horizon looks a bit slanted. Sometimes this is just an optical illusion as I think is the case here due to the shoreline in the distance. Give it a go and see if it improves it or not.
Great timing to get such a shot, just needs some better light and you will have a winner.
Hello Tom
I really do envy you with these sights and captures. Just a personal thing, but I think the signs of mankind in the BG take away the wild spirit of the dolphin. I tried cropping your image to just above the grass line, and I preferred it that way. Lovely image of a truly amazing mammal.
Best wishes
Phil
The buildings don't add anything to the scene and just seem to be an incidental inclusion. Crop them out and then rotate the shot - that should help the viewer focus on the dolphin more. I don't know if it is possible for you, but a lower or higher viewpoint might help. Higher would eliminate the man-made BG by excluding it from the scene, lower should give you a more out-of-focus BG (if you can get low enough!).
Nice to see some shots of the dolphins - would love to see them in the flesh, but it's a bit of a trek! (Even from our other base in Perthshire )

Rob--It was more of a giant belly flop.
