I took it up to show my then fiancee what it was I saw at work.
18 years later and I still take the occasional nature shot for fun, but for the most part my camera stays in the bag unless I'm being paid to use it.
After doing weddings& porttraits and other commerical photography for quite a few years.Nature photography has become my therapy. I do try and enter some of my work in our camera club battles, once in a while someone will buy a print. I suppose I enjoy them the most.. in my little galery
Hello William
If I said I wanted an easy job, making lots of money, for low capital outlay, would you believe me?!
Best wishes
Phil
PS Actually, it just reflects my love of the natural world.

It was part of my recuperation from ilness. Walking with the pet dog through the countryside with my dad's T90. As it turned out I seem to be quite good at it and started selling images. Its now been 5 years and I have not stepped foot in an office.
Every spare moment of my weekends and summer holidays as a child were spent in the Suffolk countryside with my Dad. I started out with bino's then progressd onto a Canon AE-1 and 75-300mm?( I think) at the age of about eight.
My Dad taught me alot of field craft, tracks through grass, tracks in mud, birds of prey will have favourite hunting posts etc. I will never forget the first time we both discovered a Kestrel's nest, and went and sat in a corn field and watched the adults bringing in food.
So from the age of around eight I always took my camera out with me, and now it's me who takes my dad out and show's him things that I have discovered.
After 25 years it is this year that I have been in a position to get a long telephoto lens (600mm) which really has opened things up for me.
