Is everyone waiting for Rainier or what?

I've not had much time to process lately. It's the first time I've ever had a backlog of images. Not much time to really spend online either. Just busy with stuff...that's my issues. I always wonder why it slows down too.

Well I had a plan to work around 3 days and shoot for four a week, but somehow it went all down the pipe. I didn't work much last month and don't plan on to the next one as well. And people wonder where the credit card dept is coming from

Anyway when you guys going to start heading up here ?
If anyone wants to get together during that time email me, and if I will be able to respond we can do some damage together

Well, I went to Saint Helens for sunset and it was a very "eh" sunset at best - skipped sunrise because the same "eh" sky was going to show up. It's freaking hot here in Portland and we've been sleeping in our basement. Cloudless skies so there isn't much to chase after in the last 10 days or so......

I am very much looking forward to Rainier (8/9 - 8/11 for me).

I could post photos of my daughter at her swimming lessons.........

I was kinda thinking the same thing... I of course don't get many chances to shoot, being on the road 24/7 but try when I can, I also only maybe get 4 shots out of every 200 that I deem worthy to be posted here, and of them I usually only find about 1 worth posting, maybe if I'm in the mood.... I do have some 120 slides I'm picking up tommorow, which hopefully have something worth using, and can scan them up on my new scanner, so perhaps that will help :)

time... it doesn't exist outside the office this week  Shrink wrap software really sucks :frown:
I think I have a few good waterfall abstracts from last weekend but I don't have time to process them. nice thing about the film days... I could just drop it off and pick it up! check 'em out on the projector and scan the ones I liked.

Curtis, there are certainly many things about my film days and waiting for the daily E6 run I'll miss as well.

William, I only get about 4 out of 200 also.

Yeah but your 4 beat mine any day

I was just making something up, obviously I don't post photos offten, so that shows you how many I get worthy of showing, probably closer to 1-4 per 200-500 and only maybe 1 out of 500 worth showing to you guys

I agree Curtis, E6 was a bit easier in ways, drop it off, pick it up a couple days later and see what you got.... exactly what I'm doing today, picking it up

I'm stuck in my Photoshop studies & despair of ever producing postable images.
Posted by Marc Adamus on July 28, 2006 at 12:45 PM
Eric, I've told you I can help you with this problem. Send me a file - it can be just anything at all, dosen't have to be a great image, but one that is technically sound (not way out of focus or something), higher resolution (at least 1500 pixels on the large side) and send it to me (wildlandphoto@yahoo.com). I'll inform you of my processes to get the image ready for web presentation. It can even be a file strait from your scanner. Let me know. It will be a good start and time saver over a PS class. This would give me a platform from which to offer advice about matching your original slides (as I recall you haven't gone digital) using just basic tools and sharpening the images for web. Are you using CS2, elements or some other PS program? I'd be willing to help if I can.

I need to get my mind back to photography and start posting again. It's been a hard year so far, especially with the personal loss we have suffered the last month in losing my mother.. but things are getting a little better. That is the only thing that has been hindering me.

Hang tough Ned, and don't rush it. Take a walk with her spirit and without your cameras. The beauty will be there whenever it's right to return.

Thanks Marc, I will take you up on this. And keep posting, keep up the good work, keep stirring the pot at this site.

Yep....just getting ready for Rainier. Buying food, checkin and buying supplies, choppin firewood, etc... I haven't been on a week long trip in quite some time. Can't wait!
