I'm relatively new to Oregon and PNWNP so forgive me if this is old news. The meadows on Mt Ashland, near Ashland(sw OR) are exploding with wild flowers. Lot of variety(but I'm lousy with flower ID). Birds are more my thing and there are hummingbirds everywhere as well. In case anyone is interested in exactly where, say so in this post and I'll do my best to get you there. I like this image, but most guys in the avian forum want birds bigger in the frame. Put a different image from this morning there, if anyone is interested.

Dan -
Sometimes I find it discouraging waiting for anyone on this forum to make the slightest comment on even the best of photos, so lest the silence on this one continue unabated, I'll give you my humble opinion: Very nice shot! You might want to crop this a bit more, especially the foreground. I wish I were not so distant from this area. It sounds very interesting.

I'd like the crop a little tighter. Not bad at all though. If you think Mt. Ashland is great, wait until you visit some of the other gems in the Northwest Cascades. I thought I commented on this earlier? Weird.
Great image... cool to get something in it besides just wildflowers... let alone a wonderful shot of a humingbird (IMHO) Ashland has been wonderful for flowers, everytime I drive from Nor Cal to home, over ashland and medford, etc... I've noticed the wildflowers being more and more in bloom... I've yet to see anything much past about Rice Hill/Roseburg

Hi Dan - the mention of birds in the title got me looking...
I like it, especially with a crop up from the bottom to cut out some of the OOF stuff. Many of the people that post in the avian galleries here and on other sites love to see closeups of the subjects but I tend to lean more toward the environmental shots of the birds - I like to see the surrounding habitat.
Keep 'em coming! If you ever make it up the Willamette Valley to the Portland area let me know, it'd be fun to do some bird photography together...
