Rene & I hung out at Black Canyon NP Sunday night to see if we could capture a sunset. I wanted to show you some of the light that we experienced. We had a great weekend hitting lots of the San Juans.
Yup, it's a difficult place to photograph well (narrow/deep holes in the ground usually are I guess) and this is one of the best I've seen. Excellent photo!

Wow, beautiful photo. Very nice clouds, sharp foreground, great depth, good colors... Thanks for posting.

Just plain awesome Rich!! I was fortunate enough to see the actual film the other day, and let me tell you, it blew me away! Like said above, one of the best Black Canyon images I 've seen in a long time!!

I have shot at Black Canyon, and have seen shots from Black Canyon, and this could very well be the best shot I have ever seen! It is a difficult place to get an interesting shot with this much detail. Very well done!!
Thanks everybody for the nice comments. Rene said to me "Where was I when you were shooting that?" and I said " Ten feet away" The sweet rim light lasted about 1-2 mins. After that we had nice skies but flat light. I am really happy with this one.
