I've always just used the Premium Luster Photo paper for my prints but I want to experiment a little bit. I have a few images that I think might look good on watercolor or velvet fine paper. Has anyone used these papers and if so, how have they performed? Any problems with getting stuck in the printer? How about the inks...do they clog up when using these 2 papers? Probably some idiotic questions but I love my Epson 2200 and I don't want to "screw it up". Trust me...I can do that
I'm a big fan of Moab Entrada. On the 2200 I find the lighter (190gsm) version has much less feeding problem. I also turn off high speed printing, and set the ink dry time to 2 seconds (it's in the Ink Configuration dialog, if I remember correctly) to prevent smearing. On the 2400 that doesn't seem to be an issue.

I have used the Epson watercolor paper with no problems as well.

Thanks, Guy and Scott. If I used the Moab Entrada paper, what setting would I use...watercolor, velvet fine, enhanced matte? Also, I can't find anythng about changing the speed of the printing. Thanks.
not sure about the paper Beth but on changing the speed you go into advanced & in the left side area you will find where high speed is checked you would just uncheck that...
hope that helps...

Thanks, Jill...right in front of me the whole time duh!!!
Beth, you should download the Entrada profile from the Moab web site and use it as your output profile in Photoshop (make sure you use Print with Preview and let Photoshop manage color).
You will also need to use the Matte Black ink for best results. In the printer driver you can select Epson Enhanced Matte (to make sure it won't complain about the ink cartridge) and turn off color management.
The high speed setting is a check box in the printer driver (make sure you're in Advanced mode). You can just uncheck it.
Guy,
which Moab paper is more like 'Epson Premium Luster' ? I like Luster but it is not available in Europe.I can order Moab from Switzerland though.

Jill,
I just found this - & I wanted to tell you, you're not alone. I have an Epson 2200 as one of my printers and have not been able to get the velvet to run through the back feeder either. This has been a great help to me as well. But, I have been using the Enhanced matte and the radiant white water color paper for some of my art & you will love it. I pick special types of my artwork for these papers...B/W, foggy landscapes at dusk etc.
good luck
