After hearing so many good things about Ice Lake Basin I decided to check it out last week during a trip through the San Juans. I ended up camping there for one night. It was a pretty neat place with a lot of good alpine wildflowers.
One of the shots that I wanted to attempt was a reflection of Golden Horn and the adjacent mountains in one of the tarns. Had a bit of wind to deal with, so I ended up using one of the smaller tarns. Anyway, was a fun place that I would certainly recommend. Any comments and feedback are welcome.

I think you have a pretty nice shot here Kipp. I'm not on my home monitor, but it looks like you could perhaps try and get a bit more detail in the darker areas, overall it looks a bit dark (again on this monitor). I really like the composition and the fact that you had to improvise makes it even sweeter, thanks for the look!

The composition is a bit tight (I bet you wanted a wider lens), and the photo is a bit too dark, but otherwise it looks great. You got the flowers, nice reflection, good light... Thanks for posting.

One of my favorite alpine places. Thanks for sharing! I too feel it is a bit dark.

Thanks very much for the feedback, I appreciate it. I will try lightening it up a bit. I actually did have more wide angle and cropped down some, probably overdid it. One of those things where you crop a bit and it looks better so you do it again. Good news is the original image has more scene to zoom back out some. I'll also play with the saturation some. I always notice that in the Photoshop file it looks more saturated and then when it is converted to JPG is looses some zing. Anyway, thanks a bunch for the suggestions. Regards, Kipp.
another wonderful photograph! This year the members of this ever expanding group have raised the bar, with images like this one!

Looks a lot different here at home, man my monitor at work is out of whack! From here everything looks great, I had my suspicions about the other monitor -- so forget my previous post. I guess I should know better than to trust the equipment at work
