Since I moved to full frame on the 5D, it really opens up more intimate spaces. What do you think of this comp that emphasizes the flow of the creek through the narrow gorge over the falls itself? I was debating a crop right above the reflections at the bottom of the frame..

Oh yeah, what about the border--use it or lose it?

Mike, I love the shot. It's different and very interesting and peaceful. The frame doesn't bother me for web presentation and I think the crop above the reflections at very bottom will improve it (at least for me).

I like this a lot - it seems slightly tilted to the Right and I'd suggest shooting this again next June when the green is screaming. When did you take this ??

Yeah, John, it is tilted slightly to the right--you can objectively tell at the line where the water meets the pool below. I just shot it this last Saturday afternoon when there was still a decent cloud cover. There's very little of that awesome green light that filters down sometimes, though...
Thanks, Geoff. Glad you enjoyed it. I forgot to mention also that I watched a couple guys jump down the falls while I was there--looked like fun. Folks were swimming out to the rock island at the base of the log, too. Makes me want to pack my gear in a drybag and float out there...

Nice work Mike! (I won't mention the tilt ) And thank you for the wide angle! I like wide and tele views equally well, but we don't see enough wide angles that show the surroundings of the subject.
You might want to move that log next time though...
Man, you guys are killin me with these superwide shots! I like it as is, except for the log but you can't do much about that. I'm always a fan of the pebble rocks leading you into the scene.
