In July 2004 we had a CNP camping trip at Fern Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park. On one of the mornings several of us hiked up to Spruce Lake. It was a beautiful location and I told myself I would try to get back there. Yesterday morning I finally did. As my subscription to Caudle Cloudz had expired, I had to live with an empty sky, but there was still some sweet light. The rock formation over the lake is called "Castle Rock". It adds some interest to this beautiful little lake.

Another really nice shot, Erik! I'm guessing you had the place to yourself. I just love the symmetry, broken up by the shoreline.

Great shot Erik (as always). Is it a blended exposure? Too bad TC could not have joined you on this adventure...I understand he carries compressed clouds in his glove compartment .

BTW, didn't you just have a exhibition of your work in Estes? Wondering how it went for you.

I am planning on being at Long Lake TH (by Brainard) around 5:00 AM tomorrow (Saturday) morning in case you want to meet up.

Jim

Thanks guys! Jim, I have a small gallery in Estes on the main street until the end of August, perhaps longer. I wish I could meet up with you, but tomorrow I am in Grand Lake peddling my wares there too.

I wished I could've made that Hike/Trip, I was teaching a workshop that wasn't as much fun in Snowmass that weekend.

Erik - I could stare at this image for a long time. The flow in a vertical format is just right.
