The little double of the calla

by Giuseppe Guadagno

Gallery: FloraPosted July 5, 20081,439 views22 comments
The zantedeschias in our garden begin to bloom. The white "calla" (a Zantedeschia too) is the queen and these little, colorful, nice flowers are its damsels.

D2X, Nikkor F200mm. micro - f/22 and 200 ISO

Thanks for comments and advices.

Wow, this is beautiful. The way the leaves split around the calla is great, and the soft light really makes this stand out. Well done.

Elegant, simple, and beautiful Gigi. The green and violet colors compliment each other so well.

Fantastic shot, Gigi. I don't quite understand your comment though. Are you saying this is or isn't a calla? :toast: :toast:

My fault Michael. Also the bigger "calla" is a Zantedeschia as the real calla is an aquatic plant. But for me the white is the queen and the little are nice damsels. Thanks for your interest.

That's very pretty, Giuseppe, I like the composition. I'd be tempted to clone out the urc, but that's really a very minor nit. Congrats on the EP!

Gigi, you have such an eye for the unique. You've proven with this image that a little ingenuity goes a long way. Vibrant colors, nice contrast. I like the slight shadow under the "calla", too.
