Giglach Lake at Night

Bigger version here ... http://www.andreasresch.at/upload/hiking/080917_Giglachseen/Panorama_02_Big.jpg

I had to put this one here because of the (hard to spot) cabin on the left side of the image. This lake was the destination of my recent hike trip. It's at 1900mas and of course crystal clear and ice cold. However there are a lot of fishes in there and you could see them jump occasionally. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Beautiful panorama, Andreas. I love the blues in this one ... really makes you feel cold. This should make a beautiful print.

I love the exquisite detail and the pristine reflection. I can imagine spending a night in that cabin with a nice fire.

What happens to the left of the cabin? I can't help wondering why, if it's worth including, it's placed on the very edge. If the cabin can't be afforded any more room, I would probably have chosen to exclude it. The rock in the water seems like it would be a nice touch, but then it's so easily lost in the details of the reflection. As for the rest of the photo. it is absolutely breathtaking. The wonderful clarity under the cold light gives the photo more than just a visual sensation of the high mountains. Excellent.

This is a great image Andreas. A fine dreamscape! As Kent already mentioned, why bother in adding a cropped cabin? At 700pixel does not matter, but at larger sizes I think that it will detract rather than adding anything to the beauty of this shot.

Andreas, this is great stuff! I think you could have posted this in ESS and gotten away with it! the cabin is tiny and camouflaged beautifully!

Thanks for the comments. I saw the hut after I have uploaded the highres version and so I left it in. For a big print I might crop it out - but I don't do big prints.

Hi Andreas - I would have cropped a bit from the left - it would not alter the compo too much and you would get more exposure in the ESS - this is too good not to be shown there. I almost missed it since I do not check M&N often. I found it because I used the All images-link to compare your recent series.
