Wow love this...the flecks of colour due to the leaves in the FG is nice. Great light, comp

You have a magenta cast in the water which i would remove though :)

Rock, water, fall colors - they generally go very well together when composed right. This one a great example of that. This also gives an impression that you are standing on the water - nice work John

WOW, this is fantastic John! Great color and such a vibrant scene. Perhaps my all time favorite of yours! I do agree with Steve on the color cast in the water but that's an easy fix. Super image.

I'm not really sure why but I really, really like this image. I agree about the magenta cast noted by Steve but that's a very minor critique. Great work, John!

For me, this really serves as a pleasant reminder of the cool, crisp, and damp autumn days that I love so much. Great composition - I really like the contrast in texture between the soft water and the jagged rocks. Beautiful fall scene!

I really love the slickness of the rock formations.
Looks so much better than if it were dry.
Nice fall color in the background.
Looks a little dangerous too.

There's a Split Rock falls on the Boquet River off of Route 9 -- is this it? In any event nicely done!

Love the rickety staircase of this cascade, and the fall color helps tie the whole image together.

Nice work. I think it's harder to get a good shot looking downstream, but I think you pulled it off here.

Hi John,

That's an excellent composition to show off the falls and frame the autumn colors. I think the leaves on the FG rocks are also a nice subtle touch that really finishes off the comp, too. :toast:

(I see I missed your two previous posts, which were fantastic. Had kind of a rough week with the chemo, so I have not been online much, other than posting in Avian and Flora on Monday -- will catch up with E-mail later today.)

This is really nice John. I like the muted colors of the leaves. This fall I'm seeing a lot of prints from customers that are working on their pictures in PS and everyone seems to have found the saturation tool - a little bit goes a long way.
Love the detail and color of the rocks.

Hi John, just an amazing capture overall. I think I recall you had another look at these falls from this angle quite sometime back, but I'm not too sure about that. This really has the fall or autumn look and feel to the entire scene. Very impressive. Congratualtions too on the EP selection in this category for this past week. Take care..... :toast: :jump:

Don't know how I missed this one, it is just perfect in every way. The boldness and starkness of the foreground rocks leads you right into the lacey foliage of vibrant colors. Love it!

What a beautiful vision! I love the extraordinary rythm, sense and direction of the image, in capture and editing, of light tones and contrast, of saturation and sharpness; that is all. A splendid work. A copybook.

Excellent photo. The magenta 'cast' is exactly what you would see in a cool, shaded part of the gully and provides a nice tonal complement to the rich yellow and orange of the trees. Looking down the falls leads one nicely into the picture. Also like the blurred upper frame, it suggests that there is more to see, maybe. Did you realise that the aspect ratio is almost 4/3?
