Blue Beyond

Not your typical Yosemite snow scene...I was first drawn to this scene by the collection of trees and chaotic arrangement of snow covered branches that was illuminated by the opposite granite wall reflecting the morning sun. However, it became evident that there was a higher quality of light beyond the main section that had a unique, internal like glow to it. I hope to revisit this with snowshoes to go beyond.

Canon 5D/90mm TS-E. 3 image stitch.

Very graphic image, with lots of interesting details to enjoy. That one reddish tree stands out nicely from the other black (forest fire?) trunks.

Wow! What a scene! It's all about different kind of patterns here, the trees, the branches, the way snow surrounds the bottom of every tree. Exquisite!

Beautiful scene, the dark almost black trees in contrast to the white snow is great, and that blue light beyond is exceptional.

I like the contrast between the white snow and charred trees. The blue light in the background gives the image tremendous depth. Very well done!

This is much stronger, I think, than many of your images, Jimmy. The contrast and saturation seems to be pushed here . . . and I like it. What a fantastically graphic scene with great light.

Jimmy,

I love how the blue light in the BG slowly gives way to more neutral light in the FG. It suits this image very well.

Yeah, this is very nice and the light is very unique. Those rocks are like a giant reflector and give the scene an almost rendered appearance. Note the TS lens you used. A wide angle would be worth considering to get slightly more foreground and tree height. I think the extra distortion of a wide angle with arc the trees and make for something interesting? Just a thought.

An extremely striking scene with very strong graphical elements, in particular the strong, straight & dark verticals contrasting with the sharp, thin and bright horizontals. Good eye to see the opportunity and a superb capture Jimmy!
