Lesser Whistling Duck pair

I don't get to see many Ducks in Malaysia or Singapore. If I am not mistaken, I believe it is also known as the Tree Duck and does nest in tree-holes. This was shot last week in north Malaysia on mainland Penang.

1D3, 500mm + 1.4X, ISO800, beanbag on car window.

Thanks for looking, comments please.

Beautiful ! I love the mirrored opposite leg lift with it looking like they are leaning on one another for balance. Great eye contact and compositon. The colors work really well here with that great reflection. :toast:

To answer your previous question the mountain chickadees are still coming around. As you know I'll be offline for a while now as I go face my next 'challenge' :frown:

Nice to see you have your ducks syncronized KC - is there an Olympic event in the offing?
Beautiful composition and light, great shot.

This is a wonderful shot and the pastel colors are very nice. The pose reminds me of choreographed dancing.

Thanks everyone! I must admit that I did not envisage "dancing" at all, so I am delighted with the interpretation. I should have captioned it "Fred & Ginger" or something! :wavey:

This picture made me laugh out loud as soon as I saw it. I couldn't decide if they were dancing or playing the log roll game. (Glad I wasn't the only one to see this!) What a capture! Everything else about it just great, too - colors, reflection, etc. Congrats!!

KC, very nice. I really like the BG and how the warm tones echo those of the ducks. My only wish would be for a little separation on their heads.

Great shot of this pair, Kwan. Lovely color in the water. I like the poses of the birds.
