Band Stallion with Foal

Sorry I haven't posted in a long time but really haven't been in the office much and when I am I'm burried in work. Between Yellowstone trips I've been spending quite a bit of time photographing wild horses this spring. Here one of the band stallions I've been working with is placing himself between a foal in his band and a rival stallion.

I was using my new 1d MkII for this image. I've been very pleased with this cameara.

I've seen a couple others of yours on these wild ones... an EXCELLENT series - and this one is at the top!! Tne wind-blown mane and tail and positioning in the frame is perfect!!

Great image, Robert. I feel like I need to brace against the wind. I, too, love the natural tall-grass prarie.

The stallion reminds of the wild herds of the Nevada desert.
