I love B&W, and this is excellent. but many here like as much color as possible, which to me makes things too similar. I like the different persoectives, like this.
Great pose, very sharp, and eye contact.
Did you mean to put it exactly in the middle of the image?
If you really want to experiment, try cloning in some cool clouds!

Very nice, I like the b&W conversion! The crop combined with the center placement of the subject works very well together, the only thing im not too thrilled about is the blank sky, it's just a little too boring  I might suggest using an exposure grad on the sky in ps too liven it up a little if you are in to that kind of thing. :wavey:

I like the pose and the BW. That eye really catches your attention.

Really cool shot Lon! Great choice for a conversion. Only nit for me is the bright grasses just right of his head, but thats really no big deal.

Looks Great & b&w conversion makes it more powerful !
I somehow feel, if you selectively unsharpen the grass at the bottom, which is coming infront of Bison, the image will benefit.

Thanks all, for the observations. Yes, I did consciously choose center comp after trying others. I like the suggestion for deselecting sharpening on the grasses and had already considered trying to tone down the bright stems in front of his face. Regarding the sky, I agree it would be nice to have something there, but I am not a photoshop guy so adding elements is beyond both my ability and inclination. For me this image is about the flexibility of such a massive animal and his diagonal pose, all the while keeping a wary eye on the fellow with a camera. Thanks again.

Nice in BW and no flaws for me. Very interesting pose and I like how he is eyeballing you.

Very sharp and I like the way you have captured the bison's eye as well.

Unique posture you have captured, I like it. Nice tones here, the darker head really is dramatic and the eye stands out very well. I like the soft grasses in both foreground and background. very cool.

Your subject is amazing Lon. The pose, detail and eye contact are all very nice. It's true some of the supporting elements are less than optimal but nature doesn't always provide us with the perfect scene. Well done and BTW, congrats on the EP!

Great image Lon. Don't mind the centered comp here.
Nice idea to keep it monochrome.
