Dahlia Delight

I replanted this potted dahlia last winter and was delighted ( and very surprised ! ) to have it flower in the past few weeks, being a townie with very ungreen fingers. Amazing what this site does for you !!

Canon 400D, 100mm Macro lens, 1/3 sec @ f16, natural light indoors.

Ian: At first glance I thought this would be one of Ned Fenimore's images. I hope you will take that as a high compliment as its meant to be. One of the most beautiful dahlias I've seen in quite a while and your capture really does it justice. Many kudos! >=))>

Beautiful bloom and congratulations on your success. I think the radial projections of the petals are well served by the center of the flower being the center and anchor of the photo. Good choice. If this was mine I would see what I could gain by increasing the contrast slightly. :toast:

Superb Capture Ian....... beautiful color, excellent DOF/POF. .........and I know what you mean about ungreen fingers, but having a little luck does help ( I mean with the transplant).
