Grass Ribbons (Unflower)

Several years ago I shot some autumn grasses. While I was satisfied overall, I was not very proficient in processing (speak NOT AT ALL!!!) and I always felt that I could do better. So, I've taken this older shot, cropped a bit, saturated etc and I think it's alot better than my first attempt at all of this. Digital was so foreign to me and NPN has helped me over the years to "get over it" and learn!

D70 (my backup now!), 28-300 (hardely ever use that anymore), don't know the iso and ap

As always, critiques and suggestions are welcomed.

I love it Beth! Great lines, great color, great processing. I took one shot similar to this shot this morning but the test shot did not look so great so I stopped at that one...and I think I even deleted it. This is really wonderful.

Congrats! Well worth pulling out an older capture and reworking. Absolutely lovely colors, comp and contrasts with the background pale greens. You should be very proud of this one! :toast:

A Jaw Dropper, Beth :toast: . I tried similar grass many times and every frame of mine landed up in the recycle bin. This is outstanding.

I'm with the others on this Beth but particularly Ram. I shoot grass all the time and never get anything I like. The comp, light, colors and sense of movement in this are exceptionally good. Superb work. Beautiful image.

This is a beauty, Beth; everything about it looks excellent to me. In fact, I just noticed some of this grass today (after seeing your photo), and I have to revisit it soon with my camera!

The green hued bg suggests transition. Fall might be the dominant fg but the green suggests that summer is still present. Neat use of selective focus. I like the angularity of the subject, dynamic.

Really, very, very nice, Beth ! The colour harmonies are exquisite, and you've framed it just right - there's an appropriate restlessness about it and yet it's beautifully composed.
