A purple lily
by Kalle Lintinen
I've recently been putting a lot of effort into getting my flower pictures to stand out, but often enough they just look a bit plain.
But with this picture I feel I finally got closer to the essence of flora photography.
This is a lily from my parents' backyard, but I can't really identify it. I really should try and learn.
EOS 300D, 50mm F 1.8 lens, with 12 mm of extensions
Aperture set to make the leaves sharp, but to get the OOF in the backround.
Levels and USM in photoshop.

What is the essence of flora photography?
And the bit about the essence of flora photography wasn't meant to be taken that seriously. It was basically a statement that I thought people would actually begin to enjoy looking at my pictures ;)
And yes I did enjoy looking at this one, it is very nice.
