What Lies Beneath

I found some submerged leaves in a creek at Wildcat Park near Manhattan, Kansas on Sun. This shot appealed to me because there is just a slight shaft of light on the yellow leaf, which makes it glow a little.

One aspect of nature that I love is exploring and looking beyond the "big" shots and seeking the beautiful small details, such as these leaves. The intricacy of some of nature's creations truly amazes me. It also humbles me to know I am but just a tiny part of life on this earth. Knowing this helps me to cope with life's difficulties just a little better.

Wow I really love this. I agree with the light on the yellow leaf. If you could take out a little of the blue reflection nearest the yellow leaf in the upper right corner I think it would be perfect.

The muddy leaves make a nice framing for the floating leaf, and you're right about that splash of light adding a lot. Nice catch!

This might be my favorite shot of the group, so far. It's very simple, and the use of the light is excellent. It's sort of a monotone. I think that helps to give it an elegance. That's a sycamore tree leaf, I think. They don't grow much further west than Manhattan.

Yes, the light on the leaf really makes it and draws the eye in. Well done.
