Fellow CSNP members Scott Bean & Wayne Rhodus let me tag along with them on 10/3. Scott took us to some great spots around Tuttle Creek Dam near Manhattan, and I decided to head back up there for sunrise on Sunday.

As I was driving down the road, the setting moon was huge & beautiful and I hoped I could get set up in time to capture it. Unfortunately, I don't have big enough glass to capture a good moon shot. I moved down the road and found a hillside where I could use the blazing red sumac in the FG to frame the warm, glowing grasses of the Flint Hills. I have a great love for this area and never tire of seeing it in any season. The combination of the warm golden grass, green cottonweed leaves and vibrant sumac was quite a feast for my senses, and I'm grateful I can enjoy moments like this in nature.

Feast for the eyes. Could view this and see something different each time. Also like the pano format. :toast:

Sounds (and looks!) like a beautiful moment.

I like the low perspective and pano format you settled on here Angela. Looks like the clouds cooperated a little better than they did on Saturday. Wonderful image of a timeless place.
