Flowing Into Fall
by Wayne Jones
From a hillside, I found a fantastic S-curve in this Adirondack River, but the only clear view was downhill by the river bank. As a result of the lower perspective, the scene kind of flattened out, so I ended up cropping to a panoramic format. (Only way to get the view I wanted would be with a lot of chain saw work -- not a good idea in most places, and a really bad idea in this wilderness area!)

MARC: Thanks for confirming my thought on bright highlights on the water. I always say that a blinding flash should look that way in a photograph, too.
JOHN AND PATTY. This is the East Branch of the Sacandaga, near Route 8 on the southern edge of the Siamese Ponds Wilderness Area. Took an unplanned trip there Thursday before the clouds rolled in.
Fantastic composition. It really is easy on the eye for enjoy. But unlike Marc, the water is too bright for my taste, as I feel it steals away from the grandure of the color.
