Here's one from a couple of years ago that I never posted. This image had/has a natural slight green cast to it. I moved the color balance slider 3 points toward magenta, any further and I didn't like the results. Full frame, photographed in a local county park.

Solid shot all around, from bird, to perch, to background! I can't help but notice the green on the underside of the bird. Is this natural, or part of the color cast you mention?

Thanks for the comments. The Sibley guide shows that area of the lower belly to be a bit yellowish, so I think right now it's fairly accurate although maybe it should be a little less green. There was a lot of green foliage in the area which I think caused the cast.

Simply awesome Nate. Canon has updated the 20D 4 times, but this image still has wonderful image quality. Superb lighting. :toast:

I like the over-the-shoulder pose and eye contact Nate, lovely diffuse light too. I'd be tempted to lop the lower part of the perch perhaps to below the left facing knob, and apply some NR to the background.

Nice pose, perch and background. The eye contact is right on. The green cast doesn't bother me at all. Well done. :toast:

Wonderful subtle color in the bg really makes the bird pop for me Nate. I also love the perch for this one.

Nice exposure and detail, Nate. This looks like a tough one to judge the color on. Knowing what the mossy branches look like around here, I'd say it looks about right. :toast:

I think it looks fine as posted. Nothing wrong with the colors here IOM, and I don't think it needs any noise reduction.

Nate

I like this an awful lot as posted and don't think I would correct the color any more than you have, there are times our subjects get a slight color cast naturally by the things in their immediate environment and that is completely natural.
