Aspen Color

Following the theme of fall color and white tree bark. This was taken the day of the wind storm in Colorado on the road to Owl Creek pass. Luckily this location was blocked from the majority of the wind but it was still a waiting game for the leaves to be still enough to take the shot.

Wow!! This is wonderful! The colors of the bark and placement of each in frame is superb. I would only clone out the little twig in lower center ...then frame it and hang!

Well done, Martin, and the rock cliff in the bg makes a pleasing bg for the image, nice detail in the tree trunks:toast:

Beautiful composition! I also like how crisp and clear the trees are. A gorgeous autumn scene!

What a wonderfully balanced composition Martin, and I love the stony background (as opposed to a sea of aspens).

Yeah, the bark and leaves against the rock backdrop makes this a standout, IMO. The overall clarity, composition and contrast is top-notch. :toast:

The rock sure makes for a unique backdrop. The in-focus leaves look nice and crisp, no hint of a windstorm.

The white trunks are really standout elements here. I heard about the wind storm from my friends. Very lucky to have gotten a shot like this on such a day.

Very pretty arrangement of trunks with great surrounding color. I like the relatively shallow depth of field keeping my eye on the trunks.

Great intimate portrait. I love the "eyes" in the aspen boles.

Martin, I really love the way the trunks frame the composition. I'm not wild about the rock background for some reason, but I imagine that was pretty hard to work around. :-)

On another note, I'd love to see an image with the wind blurring the leaves with this composition. The image I've created in my mind of that scene could be very interesting!
