Frosted Flower with Repost

I woke last weekend to find hoarfrost covering most everything. This was taken in the pasture at my home. I haven't found out yet the species of this wildflower, but they were everywhere under my feet as I walked. The flower measure maybe a quarter of an inch in diameter.
Canon XT, 1/5sec, F14, ISO 100, RAW, camera on tripod with Canon 100mm macro.

John: Welcome to NPN and to the finest Flora gallery on the planet. Marvelous find and a solid capture. I like this a little better with it brightened a bit and warmed up some as well. There is quite a bit of blue in the whites although its not too heavy by any means. Great to have you aboard and looking forward to more.>=))>

Nice image, John. I like the story that frost on a flower tells at the end of the season. The flower is an aster, common at the end of the growing season.

I agree with the suggestion to warm up the WB a little bit. Great comp and the frost is really a great element here. Nice eye and capture!

Welcome to NPN! I look forward to more of your posts.

Hi John and welcome. Nicely composed shot. I agree that this could perhaps be brightened and warmed a bit, but still a very nice shot.

Looks like a Frost Aster or White heath Aster (Symphyotrichum pilosum - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Symphyotrichum_pilosum) John. Which given your capture might be so appropriately named as the Frost Aster!

If you are a fellow newbie, welcome! :toast:

Thanks everyone for your commits. I've posted the photo again after I've adjusted the levels a bit. My photo editing skills aren't the best so I may have over done it. I will continue to play with it and see what I get. Thanks again, I do appreciate all the advice.
