I went out yesterday to shoot the rising almost full moon at a ranch I frequently photograph. I was blessed with a wonderful earth shadow.

Wonderful color, texture, and comp. My eye is led from foreground to middle ground to moon.

Delightful light and color Stephen. I like the curved rows of grass and how they snake through the image. Beautiful work.

Calm, peaceful, natural. Not totally gripping, but telling of the environment in a beautiful way.

Some really nice color in this shot Stephen. I love the zigzag of grasses from front to back and the few cottonwoods against the pretty lavender.

Stephen,

Wonderful colors giving a very peaceful feel to the whole image. I am having a herd time understanding where you would have needed 4 exposures to get all this in. I can understand the need for the moon, it would seem like everyhting else could have been in one exposure.

Very appaling Stephen! I like the simple shapes here. Threes in the bg are very interesting - they add a lot to the comp. imo.

Hey Stephen

This is sublime .. I love it. It's so elegantly composed, and the light, the tones, everything works so harmoniously .. a beautiful simple rhythm here.

And I'm guessing Dietrich doesn't REALLY think it's appalling. :)

Cheers

Carl

Thanks for the comments everyone . Youssef caught my typo: I actually only used two exposures to blend, one exposure for the moon and then the main scene processed in lightroom. My typing is often spastic.

Outstanding image Steve. Love the soft pastel colors and that full moon just makes the shot.

Beautiful image Steve. The S curve created by the reeds leads the eye back to the horizon and moon very well. Excellent blending work. Well done.
