Misumena vatia is a species of crab spider in North America, where it is the largest and best-known flower spider..
F/14, 1/15th, ISO 800. Canon 1D Mark III, Sigma 150mm + 36mm ext ring and ringflash/fill. Early yesterday morning in shade.
Flower is purple sage.
My wife says it looks like it has a "doll" or "pixie" face, ergo the title..Like that Aerosmith song too :)

That! that! bug looks like a lady! - great, now I have that song stuck in my head!
Nice details and colors. You did a great job balancing the ring flash for fill as I wouldn't have even known a flash was used. The background is nice and smooth. Well done. :toast:

Great colours and details, and I like how both the spider and the flower are hairy. Nice pose too. Excellent capture!
