Man... I need to hook up with one of my pilot friends! What kind of plane were you in for this? Awesome light, and I love the depth you got. Perhaps a wee bit dark when you go to print it, but it looks good on the screen.

You don't see many aerial shots that capture twilight like this. What an amazing place.

Your aerial work from this trip has truly been phenomenal Doug, and this is no exception!
A stunning view that few (if any) ever see. I'll bet you were thrilled to view these images upon your return.
Were all of the shots you've posted here in the recent past taken during the same flight?

Thanks Folks.
Floris, this was a small 4 seat (including pilot) plane as part of a 'flightseeing' tour out of the town of McCarthy.
Thanks John - yes all from the same flight. I was very very lucky - I don't think the pilots will usually push it this late. When we arrived at the desk, it was looking like there were no pilots available to take us, and it was getting late. Thanks to guide and NPNer, Carl Donohue and his connections, we got a pilot at the last minute! :)

That's just wonderful. The light is amazing and the exposure is spot on. The three lines in the LLC can be a little distracting once you became aware of them. For simplicity you might want to crop a little from the bottom - just an idea.

This is really spectacular - great scenery, amazing light. Kind of reminds me of the scenery in the movie "Polar Express".

Beautiful! I would crop some from the bottom to eliminate the llc.

Awesome, awesome image Doug (again). To see, much less photograph, the Wrangells from this perspective with that light had to be an amazing, incredible experience. Fantastic.
