Here's my first ES&S post. I hope you like it.
This photo was taken in the Adirondacks on a foggy fall morning. As the sun rose over the horizon, it lit up the fog. I've hardly changed this photo at all since capture, just some noise reduction, and minor exposure adjustments. I'd love feedback on the exposure, comp,...

Cam,

Welcome to NPN and the ES&S gallery.

I like the palcement of the tree on the left. Unfortunately the tree on the right is competing for attention as well and I think it loses some impact for me. I also like the beam of light fanning out to the right and think you could accentuate it with a boost in contrast, which I think will help the image overall as well.

Hope to see more of your work here.

Cam,

Youssef stole my thunder.... but I'll second it. Welcome to NPN and the ES&S Gallery.

This was no doubt a great scene to witness with the sun pushing it's rays through the fog. Technically, it's a little dark and flat for me. The impact of the suns rays aren't as great as perhaps they were? I'm wondering if just some general brightness adjustment with a curves layer (if you have PhotoShop) could improve this.

I do like this, but just think it needs a little extra boost to really bring out the mood.

Thanks for posting and we look forward to more of your images and we encourage your participation as well in the galleries and forums. Welcome aboard!

Lon

What a great event to witness. I've not seen this happen (not much fog here in Arizona), but it looks wonderful and fleeting. My thought is to crop some of the bottom of the image . . . and maybe some of the top too. A pano would really concentrate attention on the most important parts of the scene.

A very tranquil image Cam. It seems a bit soft, and as Lon said it could use a boost in brightness, but this image has a wonderful mood to it.
