Shot this near Moab on our 2008 visit there. It sure is a trip seeing this beautiful oasis-like waterfall in the desert environment.

Excellent composition, colors & light. Looks almost lik a waterfall in the desert. The contrast to blue sky is fabulous. Well done Angela.

Great color and crispness Angela. Where is all that water coming from?

This is terrific! Great exposure, colors, light--it all works. And worth noting that the sharpness here is exceptional. I recall some issues with sharpness in posts a while back, so whatever your technique was here--keep doing it!

Stan: Thanks! I'm still trying to perfect sharpening. Sometimes I can get great results; sometimes not. Maybe someday I'll get it down to an art.
Eva: This is called "Faux Falls" because if it weren't for man's intervention, this fall wouldn't exist. There is a creek up above that flows from the nearby La Sal Mountains, and water is diverted from the creek down this hillside and it then flows into the man-made Ken's Lake, which is used for irrigation and recreational use in Moab.

Beautiful comp and colors, and I like the falls in shadow. Cool.

I remember seeing this before and after seeing other pictures of these falls, this one stands out. I wish I would hav seen this when I was there even if it is not natural.
Nice job..

This is a beauty, Angela. Judging from the falls I would say you were there in the spring when the water tends to run higher. Am I right?

Angela: One of the better shots I've seen of these falls. My only suggestion would be a bit less sky but this is very nice as is. Very nicely done. >=))>

Angela,
This really is a strange but beautiful scene. Beautiful comp and technically right on. Whatever made that shadow just in the right place, it worked out perfectly to combine soft low light on the falls with brilliant contrast in the rocks.

Beautiful, Angela. The image flows well :), both the water and the light/shadow pattern.
