Hello All! :wavey:

Haven't posted in a while; but still make time to browse the galleries and comment every now and then.

Here's an little Pine Siskin amongst the fine autumn colours of Alberta. This one was taken at my little home away from home... which I don't get to often enough.

The usual suspects: Canon 40D, 500mm f/4L IS, ISO 400, 1/800, f/6.3(Av), 580EXII(-1), custom white balance (gray card).

Cheers

Lovely colouring and the BG is great. The 2 buds on top of the branch are slightly distracting
But thats nature  :wavey:

I like the "snappy" colors Derrick. I don't know enough about flash to comment on that aspect, appears good though. I love this species, the sound they make is very sweet and reassuring. Nice to see you back, I wondered where you wandered off to...

Good to see you back Derrick.

I like the siskin's pose, your composition and the nice background.

The bud closest to the bird's bill does pull my eyes away from the siskin I think due to in part the whites on the bud being so bright. It is a minor issue though and I like this image as posted.

Nice, Derrick. I like the bg and the attentive pose of the Siskin. You might back off just a bit more on the flash. It shows just a bit more than I care for in this image. :toast:
