Another Widgeon

I found the stretched out posture of this bird intriguing. I have been concentrating on getting them at full speed so much that this shot was actually easy! I think that must be a good thing.

Olympus e3
Olympus ZD 300 f2.8 w/2x
ISO 400
f5.7
1/1250th

Neat Image on bg. Normal processing in PS. Comments and critiques welcome. Thanks.

Favorite one so far - I really like the full extension on the head/neck.

Oh, oh, "easy" you said; you know you have just gone and jinxed yourself. I do like the image for the lovely water color, the sharpness and the interesting landing pose. Well done! :toast:

Mike, a great action shot here!
BIF are tough, and HH'ing is tougher.
Very well done!

Good job on this one Mike. I like the bird's position. The sharpness looks very good. Now that you find shooting American wigeon in flight easy (by the way wigeon is spelled without the "d") it is time to move on to a fast subject like teal. Try some blue-wings or even better some green-wings. Cheers.

Michael, I like this one a lot. The pose is really nice--you can really see him putting on the brakes as he comes in to land. The sharpness, especially on the head is really good. I think I'd like to have just a bit more room to the left for him to land in, but that is a pretty minor nit. :toast:
