Beautiful early morning light Doug. Looks to be tilted down about a degree CW. Love that sky!

Yup, that's the Beartooths. Gorgeous shot Doug. Love that sky. I agree with Jeremy, I'm already yearning for the summer months up there. Nice work! Looks like Island Lake.

Well composed and executed Doug. Maybe a little bit tilted CW as said before. The morning sky is beautiful and DOF at peak. Nice shot.

this is fabulous. very dramatic colors all around, great mood. these fg rocks are very strong, sky as well. I feel there´s a vey small tilt here, maybe mesleading though. great comp doug.

Lovely comp and beautiful scene. The color seems a bit on the strong side however.

Thanks folks. I guess there is just a very slight tilt. I did push the sats to the edge of what I'm comfortable with, and I did that on purpose to see what kind of reaction there would be. My Macbook Pro laptop monitor does make the colors look far too strong, especially the blue in the water, but I didn't think so on my desktop Mac Pro. Curious as to what others think? Has anyone noticed the trend to heavily saturated cover images on Outdoor Photographer?

Very, very nice Doug! Great placement of the rocks.....I was going to ask for a bit of lightening of the FG for more depth....but checked larger version and all is there. Sweet!

Doug, I like this one a lot. I don't mind any the nits mentioned here but have a new one. I think the trees outlining the mountain are a little darker compared the mountain so maybe darking the mountain some might balance that out. The detail and colors on the fg rocks are pretty nice. That's the grabber for me.
I wonder if it's the photographer who does that or the editor asking for it that way. From what I remember it's however they originally saw but the photographer does have the option to revamp it before it lands there. I guess those images just grab you at glance which is what is needed for a cover.

Awesome shot. Great detail and amazing colors. The composition is great and the mirror colors in the lake gives that special touch to the shot.

The repost really pops out of the screen Doug. The light, detail, and color, especially in the sky is beautiful.
