This shot was made on New Years Day in mid-afternoon after HWY 441 was re-opened. This is from the second small over look at Chimney Tops.
Any comments welcome. Especaily on ways to improve the shot.

Nice work Bruce. I especially like the three larger trunks that serve as nice focal points amongst the snowy branches.

I like this composition too. The three large trees do stand out and I find them nicely arranged. Well done

I like the composition Bruce and I really like the detail in the scene. No suggestions. I like the image as posted.

Very nice. There's a lot going on here but it never gets to busy.

wouldn't change a thing - excellent sharpness and contrast throughout, and a scattering of dark trunks in a distribution that adds interest. :toast:

Wonderful textures. I like vertical comps, especially with trees.

Hey Bruce, very nice! I've noticed that the roads have been a real issue in the Smokies for the past two weeks! This is the biggest problem with shooting snow in the Smokies, they close it down after the first flake sticks!

Thanks everyone,

Jerry, I can see where getting Smokies photos with fresh snow would be a real problem. We left early because of closed roads on our last day.
