A mixed beech-chessnut wood at the edge of the protected area of Valle Pesio, northwestern Italy, in fall 2009, a few days before the first snow storm. Nikon D3, 24 PC-E shifted, tripod, cable release, ISO 200, f6.7, 1/6 sec.

Antonello,

Very nice color and the detail looks great. I'm particularly partial to beech forests. :toast:

Have you gotten you 24 PC-E modified so that the shift become rise and then the tilt feature is also available too? It's a perfect setup for landscape. Rise & fall with the ability to tilt for DOF.

I liked your other beech image a lot. And this one I like as much. Really strong composition and appealing colors.

Very pretty. Northwestern Italy looks like upstate New York. Beautiful color and comp.

Thanks for the comments!
@Jerry: I didn't modify the 24 PC-E yet, will probably do it soon. I was waiting because I am trying to use it also for stitching three vertical shots, in that case it is useful to have T&S on different axes... But in the end it is probably more useful in the modified version.
@Dan: yes, upstate New York and the hill-low mountain part of northwestern Italy display some resemblances... Fewer small lakes here, though. I spent a few days in upstate New York about ten years ago and enjoyed the landscape a lot...

Love the mix of color in the trees and all the leaves on the ground. The larger image is very striking. Nice work.

This is a very beautiful shot. I enjoy the different shades of the leaves. Since the tree trunks and the rocks have a very similar color, it makes for a very simple shot in an otherwise chaotic environment.

Antonello,

I'm sorry that I missed this one! This is a rich and lovely autumn image. I really like the range of warm tones from the darker, fallen leaves to the brighter leaves in the back. The large boulder also gives this a nice sense of place and tells us a little bit about the landscape. Very nicely captured.
