Show me the way

A pole along the trail and a few footprints in the snow (mine) are interrupting winter's mood. As you can see, I was actually going in the opposite direction and I stopped for a minute to catch my breath when the sun allured me back into the frozen landscape. The title is kind of a antithetic metaphor.

I like it a lot, Dorin. Almost looks like a duotone. The footprints don't bother me at all, but I would clone out the pole--my eye is immediately drawn to it. All in all a nice shot.

Those cool blue tones are wonderful, Dorin.

I kind of wish that your footprints were more obvious. Reason being is that my eye follows the line of the drift, which then curves out of the frame. If your trail were were more pronounced, it'd help prevent my eyes from being taken out of the scene, and make the composition more cohesive. Aside from that, and cloning out the pole, I think that this is fantastic.

Beautiful moonscape Dorin. Personally, I don't find the man aspect in this M&N photo to be very significant - I'd clone the pole and call it Nature  I love the composition and tones, and the moon adds so much.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions, guys. They're very much appreciated. Regarding composition, I had a hard time choosing something cohesive given the area and the rapid changing atmospheric conditions. I too thought about cloning the pole, but at the moment it seemed to somehow fit into the whole scenery (I know that by looking at the image it doesn't).
Floris, that's the sun through fog.

Beautiful light, the "glow" from the snow+wind is just perfect!!! Really good whites and shadows too!! Beautiful composition!

Really nice Dorin. I love the tones and details in this image. The sun is a great touch. I agree about trying to clone out the pole. It does sort of disturb the tranquility here.

Brutally cold image Dorin but I love it. I like the lead in by the creast of the drift and the stark, brutally cold landscape. Fantastic work!

Wonderful flow to this image (too bad the pole is there) with my eyes going from top to bottom. Excellent composition and mood to this image, very well seen and done.
