Juvie White Ibis II

Eudocimus albus

Another Juvie White Ibis from Ding Darling. I was attracted to this image because of it's simplicity and the lines created by the bill and it's reflection.

I cloned out a few distracting specular highlights on the bill.

If possible, please view large version for detail.

7D, 500mm f4L IS + 1.4 tc
1/1000, f10.0, ISO 200
Partial Metering, Exp. Comp. -1/3

All comments and critique welcome.
Thank You

I really like this. Perfectly still water except as churned by the Ibis. Crop is perfect. Excellent.

A beautiful reflection shot, Matt. I'd almost be tempted to format this one as a vertical composition. :toast:

Matt,

I like the clean, simple lines in this image, the smooth water and the concentric ripples caused by the bird's movement forward. The reflection is great as is the look at this juvie's eye.

A lovely & appealing image.

Matt, this is a really well framed and executed image of the juvi, and quite characteristic of their foraging behavior. I like how you framed the negative space and the fact that you caught an excellent reflection with only a slight disturbance in the relatively calm surroundings. Very nice work!

lovely lighting and an unusually delicate pose for a bird that can often look quite ungainly

Can't add much to all of the other comments, Matt, except to say that it sure strikes me as a particularly beautiful and peaceful shot because of it's well executed simplicity. :toast:

Wonderful image Matt - as you said, I really like the simplicity of the this and the wake of the bird's bill.
