That was a fabulous moment for me. I took misty landscapes by a backwater of river Danube, when I noticed this deers swimming across the branch. I felt as if time would have stopped for a while.
I hope the moment gets through..

Cool Photo Istvan, it took me a moment to see the deer. I like this as is, but here's a thought. While I like the look of the BG trees I would crop them out. Give the photo more of a pano shape by having it start just above the reddish looking bushes. This will draw more attention to your subject and plus the BG trees will still be seen in the great reflection. Just my thoughts. :toast:

This would make me very happy! Congrats on capturing a special mood and moment. Regarding the framing, I like it fine as posted and if I were considering a crop I would NOT crop as low as John suggested...if anything, I would keep the bright wake line of the deer at the 1/3 level in the frame or lower. I am betting this is stunning when viewed larger.

István, Welcome to NPN!
This is a double dream come true! Often a "nice" landscape just needs something special, like a beautiful animal -- or a few swans to make it exceptional. You already had that exceptional scene when the three deer swam by, making this an even more interesting and beautiful image. Your timing in capturing the deer was perfect, too.

I certainly would keep the trees in this beautiful composition! If you really want to make a panoramic composition to fit a particular wall, you could crop a bit of the top, but not too much.

Congratulations on capturing a scene that few of us will ever see.

Looking forward to seeing more of your images, and PLEASE take a few moments to comment on other photographs on NPN. Each of us values the opinions of all the other photographers.

Very interesting image with a lot of different scenes going on. I like the overall tonality to this image and the white swans really add a nice touch. I did not see the deer at first but the larger image brings this out. I might be inclinded to experiment with maybe a 1/4 crop on the top for a slight more pano image but a wonderful shot.

Great setting & atmosphere with lots of subjects to look into ! It has lot of scope for experimenting with composiion. If this was mine, I may crop about an inch from the bottom, leaving out the highlights in the foreground.

The mood you've captured here is wonderful. The image would be great even without the deer. For me the swans make the image and the deer are a pleasant surprise. Would also be nice as a pano. Magical moment indeed! :toast:

What a fantastic shot. I wouldn't crop a thing. Someday I wish to capture something very similar in a nice spot I know. Deer crossing like that are rare though..(In my part of the woods) but I have seen them do it twice in the same spot...Congrats...

Without the deer ... the colors, tree silouettes, calm, and white birds...well, this is a winner. With them, it is stunning. What a moment. Thanks for sharing.
