I have blisters on me fingers from playing that song tonight, so I thought I'd post a photo that I think is representative.

A huge rainfall this day made for some foggy conditions in the afternoon for Sequoia.

A strong and very well composed image, i like it a lot. The small blueish spot in the right corner is a bit distracting in a overall beautiful shot.

Nice shot! The bright sky on the right nicely balances the strong trees on the left.

Excellent mood in this shot and a great composition. I am always a fan of these kinds of shots. The off white snow in the bottom of the frame especially on the bottom right corner really catches my eye.

Nice comp, and the light on the main tree is really nice. There is a green cast that doesn't look natural to me. I also see it in the little patch of snow in the corner. Looks like a fantastic afternoon in a great place.

such a lovely place..
I agree with Chip, nice comp and light,
Unfortunately, the green colorcast doesnt appeal to me at all, looks unnatural :frown:

This is spectacular! The only thing that I can't figure out is the strange color cast in the background. I'm not sure I've seen anything like it in the forests, it's almost an aqua color.

A spectacular rendition, Michael! I have never seen Sequoia NP look this
in person or online. I like the warmth of the scenic plus the Alpenglow-
like effect on the front tree. I don't know if it would help the image or take
something important away to crop and inch and a half in from the right
to take away the bright white sky. Nevertheless, living only about a three
hours away from Sequoua NP, this has inspired me to go there soon.

The mood is extremely nice. I love foggy forest shots such as this. For me, the distinct blue/green color cast is something that does not look natural and I'd suggest trying to work with.

Beautiful composition, but the blue/green cast is a little overdone

Amazing light comp, very mysterious. Won't beat the horse about the cast other than to say I'd correct it. :toast: :toast:

Just FYI, the REASON the color is a challenge is that this image was underexposed a bit, and there was some problem related to reciprocity failure. Believe me, I've spent hours trying to correct it, but I'll keep trying.

Really awesome image, the mood here is great... As is the delicate light. I too think the greenish cast is the only thing that could be worked on. Maybe just take the entire white balance and bring it a little towards the magenta side.

Incredible composition Michael. Love the lines of the trees and the delicate light and fog. The green/cyan cast as mentioned is unfortunate. Maybe a selective color layer, and fooling with the cyan, green, and blue sliders would work, especially decreasing the cyan slider. Just a thought, and one you have probably already tried. This is really an amazing image though.

Pretty, Michael. The red tree is certainly a nice focal point.

Michael, not sure what the problem is, but the colorcast can be eliminated in 30 seconds. Try this--go into "Color Balance" which is in virtually every image software, move the cyan towards red, the Green toward magenta, and the Yellow towards blue. If you want to retain a coloracast, id go with blue (the sky is blue), and you can do that by moving slightly towards cyan and green but only in the highlights. Id really like to see a repost, cause this is a beautiful shot.

I like the repeating patterns and variations in the tree trunks. I agree the bit of white/cyan colour in the bottom right corner is distracting.
