This is great Charlie. It is nice to see a Vesper in such a clean open environment. The only time I seem to see them around here is in corn fields. Great detail and nice job on the exposure. Nice pose and I like the composition.

Very nice! I can't get them in a clean setting like this, either.

Terrific shot, Charlie! This is that grassland area near your home that you pointed out?

beautiful shot--great to see the sparrow perched up like this. very nice perch and detail. really a fine looking shot.

I'd be inclined to call this a Savannah Sparrow, given the lack of eye-ring, prominent pale supercilium, and very short tail. That said, Savannah vs Vesper often vexes me...

Love it! Nice and simple, LOVE the perch, and the high key works well for the feel of the shot. Great pose to boot... :toast:

I like how well he stands out from the background. Nice details and I really like the perch. I think my favorite part is his pose which is almost like he's showing off.

A great angle on this one, Charlie. A good job on the exposure against that bright bg. :toast:

Lovely Charlie. The nice comp, sharpness and detail that I expect from you - I even take it for granted sometimes. Perhaps I shouldn't but I haven't been disappointed yet. Great perch. There's enough blue in the background that it doesn't seem particularly high key to me. I'd love to get one of these.

This looks a really proud bird. Lovely detail seen in the larger version and I like the clean, sharp simplicity of the composition. Seeing this reminds me that I haven't got a Sparrow image yet. Graham
